Frequently asked questions
Can't find what you're looking for? The WeldSuite help center has detailed guides.
What is WeldHost?
WeldHost is the domain app in WeldSuite. You can search for and register domains, connect domains you already own, and manage DNS records, nameservers, email forwarding and transfers from one dashboard.
How much does a domain cost?
Prices depend on the extension. Every search result shows the price for the first year and the price it renews at, so you know the cost before checkout. WeldHost has no subscription. You only pay for the domains you register.
What's included with every domain?
Every domain includes WHOIS privacy protection, DNS management and email forwarding at no extra cost, plus optional auto-renew. WHOIS privacy is applied automatically wherever the registry allows it; a few extensions, such as .de, don't support it.
How does auto-renew work?
When auto-renew is on, we charge your saved payment method within the 14 days before the domain expires and renew it with the registry once the payment succeeds. You can turn auto-renew off for any domain, or renew one manually.
Can I use a domain I bought somewhere else?
Yes. Add it as an external domain: verify ownership with a TXT record, import your existing DNS records, then point your nameservers to WeldHost. Your domain stays registered where it is, and you manage DNS in WeldSuite.
Can I transfer my domain in or out?
Yes. You can transfer domains into WeldHost, and you can get your auth code from the dashboard whenever you want to move a domain out. Domains have a transfer lock by default, which you can switch off when you're ready to transfer.
Which DNS record types are supported?
A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV, NS, CAA and PTR. The TTL can be automatic or anything from 1 second to 24 hours. You can lock important records so nobody changes them by accident.
Does WeldHost host websites?
Not today. WeldHost covers domains and DNS. You can point your domain at any website host by adding the A or CNAME records they give you.
Do I need a WeldSuite account?
Yes. WeldHost is an app in WeldSuite, so you sign in with your WeldSuite account. Your domains then work with WeldMail, WeldDesk and the rest of the suite.
The first step to something big.
Find your domain, register it in a couple of minutes, and manage it alongside the rest of your business.
